OUR VISION FOR LIBERIA

DAWUFON’s vision for Liberia aims to create an environment where single mothers and their children can achieve economic independence. This vision is driven by the desire to provide equal opportunities for single mothers to skilfully contribute to society, in the same manner as their male counterparts.

What we do

DFON plans to realize its vision by launching several initiatives and programs that are aimed at promoting economic empowerment among single mothers. These initiatives encompass two main areas:

1. DFON will focus on skill development through vocational training, entrepreneurial and financial literacy programs, and mentorship opportunities. These initiatives will equip single mothers with the requisite skills and knowledge to initiate their businesses, secure decent-paying jobs, and make informed financial decisions.

2. DFON will also prioritize farm management initiatives. Through these programs, single mothers will learn how to cultivate crops, raise livestock such as chickens, and manage their farms effectively. By providing training and resources on farming, DFON seeks to encourage entrepreneurship among single mothers and create sustainable income streams for them.

TestimonIAL

As a farm manager working closely with DFON, I have witnessed firsthand the significant impact that this foundation has had on the lives of single mothers and their children in Liberia. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of working with these women, training them on farm management practices and providing them with resources and support to establish their own farm.

More Food, Better Liberia

More food better Liberia” is a slogan that encapsulates the idea that access to an adequate and nutritious food supply is a critical factor in the development of Liberia. Despite its vast agricultural potential, Liberia has struggled with food insecurity, malnutrition, and poverty for many years. However, with the right policies and investments, it is possible to increase food production and improve the livelihoods of Liberians. This can be achieved through initiatives such as supporting smallholder farmers, investing in infrastructure, and promoting sustainable agriculture practices. By prioritizing the availability and quality of food, Liberia can build a more prosperous and resilient society for all its citizens.
