The Dawufon Foundation (DFON) is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable women and children in Liberia. Our mission is to empower women through education, entrepreneurship, and agriculture to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage. We offer a range of services, including vocational training, entrepreneurship courses, agricultural education, and access to resources such as seeds, tools, and equipment. Our team of experts provides mentorship, guidance, and support to help women achieve their career goals and become self-sufficient. Below are the four major activities that we are currently implementing.
Food production by farming
At the Dawufon Foundation, we recognize that food security is a critical issue facing vulnerable women in Liberia. That's why we have implemented an agriculture farm as part of our program to empower women to grow their own food. Through this initiative, we provide women with the knowledge, skills, and resources to cultivate crops and vegetables, which they can use to feed their families and generate income. Our team of experts provides training and support, including access to seeds, tools, and equipment, to ensure that women can sustainably produce their own food. By equipping women with the tools to grow their own food, we are enabling them to achieve greater self-sufficiency, break free from dependence on others, and build a better future for themselves and their families.

Health awareness counseling
We believe that access to health education and services is a fundamental right for every woman. To this end, we have included health awareness programs as part of our initiative to empower women in Liberia. Our goal is to raise awareness and educate women on a range of health issues, including reproductive health, maternal and child health, and disease prevention. Through our workshops, seminars, and community outreach programs, we provide women with accurate information and resources to help them make informed decisions about their health. Our team of health experts also provides counseling and referrals to specialized services when necessary. By empowering women with knowledge about their health, we are enabling them to take control of their well-being, advocate for their rights, and contribute to the development of healthier communities.
Educational Assistant for children
Education is a fundamental human right that every child should have access to, regardless of their circumstances. At the Dawufon Foundation, we believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a better future for vulnerable children in Liberia. That's why we have established a computer school program to provide educational assistance for children in our program. Our computer school offers training on basic computer skills, which are increasingly important in today's job market. We also provide academic support in subjects such as mathematics, science, and language. Through our educational assistance program, we aim to provide children with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. We believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed, and we are committed to making that a reality for the children in our program.
Career development for women
At the Dawufon Foundation, we recognize that career development is essential for women to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage in Liberia. That's why we have prioritized career development as a critical aspect of our program to empower women. We provide women with access to vocational training, entrepreneurship courses, and other career development opportunities, enabling them to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to participate fully in society. Our team of experts provides mentorship, guidance, and support to women, helping them identify and pursue their career goals. By equipping women with the tools and resources to succeed in their chosen fields, we are enabling them to build better lives for themselves and their families, break free from poverty, and contribute to the growth and development of their communities.
